Description
VM® Manitowoc 888 Track Shoe
Product Overview:
Manitowoc 888 crawler shoes are designed for heavy-duty operations with Manitowoc 888 crawler cranes. The crawler shoes are an important part of the crane chassis, ensuring better ground contact, support, and stability. Made of high-quality 35SiMn and 31Mn2SiMo alloy steel, the crawler shoes can withstand the rigors of industrial lifting and hoisting operations.
Each crawler shoe undergoes a meticulous heat treatment process, including full quenching, tempering, and case hardening, resulting in excellent wear resistance and durability for long-term use in harsh environments.

How often should the Manitowoc 888 Track Shoe be replaced?
The replacement cycle of crane crawler shoes depends on several factors, including frequency of use, working environment, load size, and maintenance practices. In general, the service life of crawler shoes can reach 2500 to 3000 working hours, but the specific time needs to be adjusted according to the following factors:
Working conditions: Working in harsh environments (such as muddy, rocky, or sandy ground), crawler shoes will wear faster. If used frequently in extreme terrain, more frequent inspections and replacements may be required.
Load and operation: Overload or high-intensity operation will accelerate the wear of the 40246 track shoes. If the crane is often under heavy load or high-frequency operation, the replacement cycle of the track shoes will be shortened.
Maintenance: Regular inspection and maintenance of the track shoes (such as cleaning mud, checking the looseness of bolts and tracks, etc.) can extend their service life. If maintenance is not in place, wear will accelerate and may lead to earlier replacement.
Material and quality: High-quality 40246 track shoes will have a longer service life; otherwise, more frequent replacement may be required.
General recommendation: Check the condition of the track shoes between 2500 and 3000 working hours. If obvious wear, cracks, or deformation are found, they should be replaced in time to avoid affecting the operational stability and safety of the crane.
