Production Process for IHI CCH700 Crawler Crane Track Shoe
The manufacturing of the IHI CCH700 crawler crane track shoes starts with precision casting with specifically designed molds, during which alloy steel in a liquid form is cast under controlled temperatures to ensure no air holes inside the structure. The first crucial step in their heat treatment involves Q&T, when parts are heated up to approximately 900°C and then cooled down rapidly in water, followed by tempering, which results in uniform core hardness between 230-320 BHN with all internal tensions removed. Next, wear-prone parts, such as grouser bars and roller paths, are subject to an additional localized heat treatment, which significantly increases the surface hardness to 30-36 HRC without reducing core strength. Finally, the products undergo quality control that includes Brinell hardness check, tensile and impact tests, and non-destructive examination by ultrasonic waves or magnetic particles.
