Description
The Manitowoc 888 Bottom Roller (Lower Roller) plays an integral role in the undercarriage of the Manitowoc 888 crawler crane as a major load-bearing part. The bottom roller, being one of the five components that make up the “four wheels and one track” arrangement, plays the crucial role of evenly distributing the entire weight of the machine on its tracks for optimal rolling over the tracks.
Our bottom rollers are made in line with OEM specifications using high-quality alloy steel. These rollers go through several stages of manufacturing, including forging, heat treating, and machining processes to produce durable and reliable products.

Recommendations for Maintenance
Daily Inspection: Before commencing work each day, check the track rollers for any abnormalities such as oil leaks, cracks, and bolts that may be loose.
Periodic Maintenance: After every 250 hours of operation, remove any dirt build-up around the track rollers, ensuring that the rollers rotate freely without hindrance.
Tension: Ensure track tension is properly maintained; if the track is too loose, it will tend to come off, while if it is too tight, it will accelerate wear and tear on the rollers’ surfaces.
Replace Promptly: Replace the track rollers whenever tread wear exceeds 3 mm or there are any oil leaks or cracks to avoid further damage to the crane undercarriage parts, including drive sprockets and idlers.
Simultaneous Replacement: It is advisable to change the rollers on one side at a time to promote even distribution of loads along the crawler crane track rollers, thus extending their lifespan.
